As a brand specializing in media, PR, and marketing, we thought, how could we not contribute to this conversation? When the opportunity presented itself, here we are.
So…in this piece, we’ll discuss the top 5 marketing trends we believe will shape 2025. (We also have the insights of a few marketing experts and pros to back our claims!)
Let’s dig in?
Trend #1: AI-driven content experiences will be on the forefront
Catherine Gason, a marketing consultant serving clients on an international scale, predicts the following trends as AI (artificial intelligence) becomes deeply entrenched in our marketing strategy:
- Mentions in AI Overviews & Zero-Click Search: With search engines evolving, AI Overviews — concise AI-generated answers at the top of SERPs — are becoming a critical factor. We’re seeing a rise in zero-click searches, where users get answers directly from the SERP, bypassing website visits. As this trend grows, optimizing content to appear in featured snippets and knowledge panels will be a priority for businesses.
- Development of Content Strategies for AI-Driven Search: We’ll see a shift towards on-page optimisation and schema markup to ensure search engines easily interpret content. There’s a growing focus on middle- and bottom-of-the-funnel content, which drives users to visit websites rather than relying solely on zero-click answers.
Adding onto this, Marcus Clarke, the owner of Searchant, a marketing agency, says, “In 2025, AI-driven experiences will dominate B2B and B2C marketing.
Consumers and businesses expect brands to understand their needs in real-time, and AI advancements will make this possible and seamless.
For B2C, I see immersive shopping experiences through AR and VR becoming mainstream, especially for e-commerce. Imagine virtually trying out a piece of furniture or a pair of trainers before hitting “buy.”
For B2B, the rise of AI-assisted account-based marketing will reshape how we approach lead nurturing, with tools delivering insights on intent and timing with surgical accuracy.”
Trend #2: Micro-communities may see a boom
Community-building needs a little bit of change these days, experts say. It’s impossible to nurture and interact with tens of thousands of people at once, which is why you might need to focus on the next best thing: Micro-communities.

This concept is not new. Brands like Glossier, Glow Recipe, MyYogaPal, etc., all have invested in micro-communities in the last few years (by either creating private groups or city-specific channels where they could get to know their customers at a deeper level).
Aaron Whittaker, the VP of Marketing at Thrive, an internet marketing agency, says, “From my vantage point, I see “micro-community marketing” emerging as the dominant trend for 2025.
Instead of broad market targeting, we’re already shifting toward building and engaging with highly specific audience segments. For instance, we recently helped a B2B client create private Slack communities for different industry verticals, where customers share best practices and provide direct product feedback.
The biggest surprise has been the rise of AI-powered personalization that actually feels human. We’re using AI to analyze community conversations and create hyper-relevant content but letting human moderators guide the actual interactions.
The future is about fostering the most meaningful connections within smaller, more engaged groups.”
Many brands are taking this personalized approach further by encouraging their community leaders to make a digital business card that showcases not just contact information, but also their micro-community affiliations and expertise areas. This creates an instant connection point and helps members feel more connected to their community guides from the first interaction.
We might also see more companies invest in influencer marketing to tap the communities of micro-influencers and to develop UGC (user-generated content) from them.
Trend #3: Video (and social) content will see a rise in traffic
We’ve all been hearing about the impressive ROI and engagement rates video content provides.
Just to recap, video marketing is said to have the highest growth rate among marketing channels with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.5%. 87% of marketing departments plan to invest in video marketing going forward in 2024 and beyond.
The reason for these impressive results is simple: Customers simply enjoy video content. Now more than ever, video is a medium that can be educational and engaging (through storytelling) at the same time.
Since plans for the marketing budget have already been allotted to video marketing, we can expect video as a channel to grow in 2025.
Aside from this, in 2025, since we’re seeing customers developing a shifting pattern in consuming content and using alternative search methods (shifting from Google to social media platforms to find brands and look up queries), we can also expect brands to invest more in social media to find potential customers and get sales.
Trend #4: Marketing messages will shift focus to have an ethical and moral focus
These days, we’re already seeing the next generation of customers (particularly Gen Z and millennials) opt for brands that focus on their values and ethics, such as sustainability, fair wages, country-wide laws, military budgets, etc.
In fact, 73% of Gen Z shoppers are likely to pay more for brands that have sustainable products. We might see an uptick in this number as awareness (through social media) increases and customers become more ethical and empathic.
Just as an example, we can already see customers opting to unfollow celebrities who have questionable ethics and instead support small businesses and local brands.
Jose Angelo, a growth marketing consultant and a marketer with more than a decade’s worth of experience, says:
“There’s the emergence of purpose-driven marketing, wherein consumers increasingly prefer to buy from brands that genuinely care for social and environmental causes. Today’s customers don’t demand products alone; they desire to connect with companies with a similar outlook.
I have found through experience that brands that can be authentic, transparent, and responsible socially will perform more effectively in gaining market share compared to the ones that always concentrate on conventional advertising.”
Trend #5: Hyper-personalization will thrive
Angelo also mentions that he’s seen through his own experience how hyper-personalization can improve customer experiences.
He says, “The most crucial marketing trend for 2025 will be hyper-personalization powered by advanced first-party data strategies.
Companies that can truly create laser-focused, individualized experiences will dramatically outpace their competitors. Marketing is changing from generic segmentation to really understanding the individual journeys of customers.
At multiple SaaS companies I have worked with, it has been of great interest to discover how personalization can increase conversions by up to 40%.
In my current organization, we implemented a sophisticated customer data platform that allows us to craft messaging so precise that it feels like a one-to-one conversation.
For example, we have a real-time recommendation engine based on the behavior of users, which helped increase engagement with products by 25%.”
Other B2C marketing trends
In 2025, the B2C marketing landscape will be significantly shaped by digital innovation and evolving consumer preferences. People-first industries, such as fashion, will continue to leverage social media platforms like Instagram to connect with a younger, more digitally savvy audience.
As trends like sustainable fashion and personalized shopping experiences gain momentum, brands will need to adapt their marketing strategies.
From influencer collaborations and virtual try-on experiences to nostalgic fashion trends like tweed jackets making a comeback, the future of B2C marketing promises to be exciting and diverse.
Marketing infrastructure trends (such as intranet solutions)
Experts suggest that we’ll continually see intranet solutions as an essential tool for internal communication and collaboration, especially as hybrid work continues to dominate.
[Quick Side Note: By using modern intranet platforms, companies can centralize workflows, encourage team engagement, and make sure that key updates reach the right people without delays.]
Aside from this, in 2025, we might just find businesses adopting more stringent cloud security standards and privacy regulations in an increasingly cloud-reliant marketing world.
As cloud-based marketing tools dominate, adopting strong cloud security frameworks will be essential to protect sensitive customer data. These frameworks provide a structured approach to managing risks and ensuring compliance.
For example, solutions like Cloud-Native Application Protection Platforms (CNAPP) support these frameworks by offering threat detection and compliance tools. In 2025, businesses prioritizing cloud security standards will safeguard their data and maintain trust in an increasingly cloud-reliant marketing world.

Wrapping up
Truth be told, if you’re looking for a *particular* marketing trend you should focus on in 2025, you’ll have to dig deep into your target audience to find what they want to see from you.
On that note, (and not to be hyper-capitalistic of the opportunity), but if you’re in the mood to find out what your audience wants to see from you, you might want to invest in a media monitoring tool to keep a pulse on their conversations and the recurring themes and subtext between them.
